Event Artists

Janey Maxwell

Musical Director

Janey Maxwell has over fifteen years of experience teaching music and the whole curriculum in local primary schools. In 2013 she started running a primary schools music festival in the Westerham area. Janey has a long-standing connection with St George’s, having joined the adult choir in 1990. She has been leading St George’s Junior Choir since May 2016.

In July 2014 Janey created Maxwell Mini Music, a pre-school music group – inspired by the music philosophy of Kodály – which meets in the church on Monday mornings during term time. In her spare time Janey is a regular member of the London Philharmonic Choir and the Bromley Philharmonic Choir.

Janey is delighted to be leading today’s concert after the success of last year’s inaugural Arts At St George’s Junior Choral Festival.

Tracey Renwick

Accompanist

Tracey was brought up in Carlisle and was involved with music from the start, playing violin with Cumbria Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Music Theatre.

She studied music at Goldsmiths College, London University, and after graduating worked as a piano teacher and  freelance ballet pianist in London. For the past 25 years she has worked for the Royal Ballet School, which has involved much performing both at home in the Holland Park Theatre and the Royal Opera House, and abroad in Japan, Germany and Salt Lake City.

Tracey plays piano in the Brook Piano Trio and has accompanied many different instrumentalists and singers. She  accompanies  Sevenoaks Philharmonic Choir and Bromley Philharmonic Choir, and also plays organ at St. Botolph’s church, Chevening.

She continues to play the violin in Bromley Symphony Orchestra and Bromley Symphony Players and has also been lucky enough to perform piano concertos with both.
