Getting to St George’s

St George’s Church is in the heart of Beckenham, at the corner of the High Street & Bromley Road & next to Beckenham Green.

By Train:

The church is a two minute walk from Beckenham Junction station, which is served by regular trains from London Victoria (15 – 20 mins), London Bridge (34 mins), Herne Hill (7-12 mins), Bromley South (5 mins), Orpington (15 mins). Connections to other destinations in Kent can be made at Bromley South. The Victoria service connects at Herne Hill with trains from Blackfriars and St Pancras. The London Overground may be accessed at Penge West via the 227 bus. Trains from London Bridge, Charing Cross and Cannon St. serve Clockhouse Station 8 mins from St. George’s by bus routes 227 & 367 or a short walk to Beckenham Road tram stop which connects with Beckenham Junction.

By Tram:

Beckenham Junction tram stop also a two minute walk from St. George’s. Trams take 18 minutes to East Croydon.

By Bus:

Bus routes 54 (Woolwich/Elmers End), 162 (Eltham Station/Beckenham Junction), 227 (Crystal Palace/Bromley North station), 354 and 367 (Bromley North Station/East and West Croydon stations) stop outside the church.

Parking:

There is a large pay and display council car park in St. George’s Road, to the east of the church. Charging operates from 7.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday. There are parking restrictions in the roads surrounding the church and in the centre of Beckenham. Street parking is mostly free after 7pm, with some on street pay parking bays being free from 6.30pm.
