Biography

Formed in 2023 at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, CATIL Quintet is a vibrant wind quintet formed of five talented young professionals.

Uniting their passion for music and their desire to share it with a wide audience, these talented musicians are committed to spreading their art both on stage and in schools, where they can promote their instruments and inspire younger generations. Their diverse repertoire covers a variety of musical styles, showcasing their versatility and their commitment to making music accessible to all.

CATIL Quintet has performed at esteemed venues including LSO St Luke’s, Guildhall Chamber Festival, and Guildhall Chamber at Six series. They are recipients of several accolades invluding the Guildhall Oboe & Bassoon Prize and the Guildhall Needlemakers Woodwind Prize. They were named winners of the Tunnell Trust Award 2026 which will give them the opportunity to tour Scotland with five concerts in 2026 and 2027.

The group are deeply invested in education work, regularly collaborating with schools and youth organisations such as the City of Norwich School, Barnet Education Arts Trust, and Guildhall Young Artists in Norwich. Through their dynamic programming and commitment to accessibility, CATIL Quintet seeks to celebrate the richness of wind repertoire while engaging new audiences and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
