Biography

Pete Cook has been a sought-after sound in the basement of many a horn section. He played latterly with Chas and Dave including a Royal Variety Performance and to a sold-out O2 Arena. After starting as a player/arranger with The Ray Gelato Giants he went on to spend 12 years in Blue Harlem – one of the UK’s premiere swing/R&B bands. He cut his teeth on the retro rhythm and blues scene and played at festivals all over Europe and Scandinavia and with many visiting American acts including the saxophonists Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeely and Hal Singer. Pete first met Andy when he guested with the Mike Sanchez Rhythm and Blues Review (of which Pete was a long-serving member) and he’s been raving about Andy’s playing ever since.
