Philippa Rowe

Leader

Biography

Philippa has been part of the Bromley Youth Music Trust for over 30 years, learning the clarinet under the tutelage of Diane Peters and Derek Wallace, and spending more hours than she can count rehearsing and performing with various chamber music groups, orchestras and bands. She was privileged to go on five tours with the Bromley Youth Concert Band, to Europe and Canada, and to perform with BYMT on some of the biggest stages in England including the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.
Philippa’s day job is as a structured finance lawyer, but music remains her passion and she has played with XBY since leaving school. She is delighted that her two daughters are also benefiting from the huge amount that BYMT has to offer through their participation in instrumental lessons, Saturday band and Music Theatre.
Philippa is also a member of the Crompton Singers, a small choir which meets a few times a year to sing Evensong at venues such as St. Paul’s Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral.
